The African Real Estate Society (AfRES), founded in 1997, is a continent-wide organization that seeks to promote networking, research and education among property professionals across Africa. It is affiliated to the International Real Estate Society (IRES), along with sister societies in North America (ARES), Asia (AsRES), Europe (ERES), the Pacific Rim (PRRES) and Latin America (LaRES). There is no profit motive and no person is paid for his or her services. The warmth and mutual support amongst members and between sister societies is characteristic, and anyone who wants to contribute is welcome.

(Call) Virtual Joint Real Estate Conference by AsRES, GCREC and AREUEA Futures of Real Estate: Impacts of technologies and global changes	The 2021 Joint Real Estate Conference by the Asian Real Estate Society (AsRES), the Global Chinese Real Estate Congress (GCREC) and the American Real Estate and Urban Economics Association (AREUEA) will take place between July 18 and 21, 2021 and go virtual. The conference will be hosted by the Department of Real Estate and Institute of Real Estate and Urban Studies of the National University of Singapore.
(Outreach) Organised by Real Estate Research Institute The 2021 RERI Virtual Seminar Series	The 2021 RERI Virtual Seminar Series will be three two-hour sessions held on three consecutive Fridays beginning on May 7, 2021. Each session will feature presentations of three research papers followed Q and A’s. A panel discussion featuring industry leaders will wrap up each session.
(Outreach) 31st ERES Industry Seminar: BIG DATA IN REAL ESTATE	European Real Estate Society (ERES) and University of Gdansk (UG) organise an online ERES Industry Seminar on “Big Data in real estate”, on March 19th, 2021. (Outreach) Pathways to Zero Net Carbon Emissions in International Real Estate Investment	Governments in major developed markets are committed to reducing their countries’ net carbon emissions by target dates stretching between 2030 and 2050. Many cities around the world have established policies and strategies to deliver on these commitments, whilst real estate investors are increasingly being asked to put in place their own pathways to net zero.

(Outreach) Organised jointly by ERES and the ‘Carbon Risk and Real Estate Monitor’ (CRREM) project 29th ERES Industry Seminar "Stranding Risk"	The goal of the CRREM project is to accelerate the adaptation of the real estate sector to the process of decarbonisation and climate change. The project estimates the risk of greenhouse emissions released by real estate assets owned by investment portfolios and companies and defines carbon reduction measures to manage this risk.
(Call) Real Estate Finance and Investment Symposium	The University of Cambridge (Department of Land Economy), the University of Florida (Bergstrom Real Estate Center), the University of Geneva (Geneva Finance Research Institute), and the National University of Singapore (Institute of Real Estate and Urban Studies and Department of Real Estate) announce a call for papers for their joint 2020 Real Estate Finance and Investment Symposium. The symposium will feature longer, more in depth paper presentations and will allow ample time for discussion among presenters, assigned discussants, and other participants.
(Call) The future of the African real estate sector: what next? - AfRES Conference 2021	Last year we went back to Tanzania after an absence of years, this coming conference it will be also going back to the site of one of our earlier conferences, Zambia. Appropriately the year 2020 will be the celebration of our 20th annual conference for the African Real Estate Society. It is cause for both celebration and also contemplation about the future. The conference venue is the historical Mulungushi International Conference Centre (MICC). Situated in Manda Hill near the National Assembly, MICC was built in 1970 to host the third Summit Conference of the Non-Aligned Nations.

(Call) 1st Workshop on mutual funds and Portfolio Management REAL ESTATE INVESTMENT FUNDS: INDUSTRY AND FUND PERFORMANCE DYNAMICS	The real estate fund industry has experienced tremendous growth over the past two decades. Reinforced by the adoption of a more protective directives and an investor-friendly environment, it has been able to drain more liquidity. Nowadays, real estate securities and funds appear to play a major role as an entire asset class available to investors and no longer as a mere support considered separately from other asset classes such as equities and / or bonds.
(Outreach) University of Manchester and University of Melbourne: Fully-funded dual PhD in Transportation and housing market interactions	Fully-funded studentships as part of the University of Manchester’s and the University of Melbourne’s Global Doctoral Research Network are currently available on selected projects. The successful candidate will spend at least 12 months at each institution and will receive a dual PhD at the end of the programme.

(Outreach) Special issue of the Journal of African Real Estate Research Call for Papers from female real estate, property, housing, and urban development researchers	Supporting female researchers in real estate is an important agenda for the property discipline and is strongly supported by the editorial team at the Journal of African Real Estate Research (JARER). Encouraging women to publish in peer-reviewed scholarly journals enriches the field and is a key element in a successful researcher’s career. To assist in this effort, JARER announces a call for papers for a special issue devoted to highlighting the work of female researchers in property related subjects.
(Call) Journal of Property Research (JPR) Special Issue Automated Valuation Services	Automated valuation services (AVSs) are used by web-based marketing platforms, tax authorities, banks, and rating agencies to predict values of individual residential properties based on a fitted statistical model and a property’s characteristics. A timely AVS requires continuous access to high-quality transaction data, flexible statistical models, and a technical implementation that keeps the service cost-effective and makes it easy to use.

(Call) 13th ERES Education Seminar (Alicante University, Spain December, 1st – 2nd 2017)	The European Real Estate Society (ERES) is pleased to announce the 13th ERES Education Seminar to be held in Alicante, Spain, organized by the University of Alicante, during December, 1st – 2nd 2017. The Seminar will provide a forum for academics to present and discuss research on Real Estate Education, the challenges, techniques and other related issues. The seminar will devote one panel to identify the introduction of energy concepts in real estate education. This panel reflects collaboration with the RENTALCAL Project and its team members.
(Outreach) The European Real Estate Society Industry Seminar Berlin (31st March 2017)	Rent Regulation in Housing Markets – International Perspective and the Case of Germany Demographic changes, urbanisation and lack of accommodations for refugees are current issues in all German cities, which has led to rent increases and resulted in reforms of the German residential rent control framework.
(Call) ERSA & ERES Summer School 2015 - “Developers, Planners and the City”.	The ERSA & ERES Summer School targets PhD students and junior researchers with less than 10 years of research experience. The Summer School intends to bring together Real Estate researchers and Regional Economists. Participants research should relate to at least one of the following areas: real estate development, urban planning, urban development, urban economics.
